ICBC’s No-fault Scheme

Chapter Three: ICBC’s No-fault Scheme

On May 17th, 2018 the provincial government passed the Insurance (Vehicle) Act and the Civil Resolution Tribunal Act which categories most injuries as minor and caps financial compensation for minor injuries to $5,500. It also restricts payback from medical services and eliminates the ability to recover wage losses and medical expenses if the claimant has another coverage source such as extended health coverage.

To learn what is defined as a minor injury, compensation for minor injuries, limits on special damage recovery, ICBC’s allowable deductions and more, read the “ICBC’s No-fault Scheme” section on ICBCAdvice.com under the “Types of Claims” section.
